Visiting Shiloh is an amazing experience. As you journey back through history, you can relive the events that took place here.
After wandering through the gift shop and enjoying local-made products, you can start your journey with the hologram display, which uncovers the ancient Tabernacle.
From the hologram, you can make your way through the ancient town of Shiloh. Enjoy looking for pottery and mosaics along the way. As you walk, you will pass an ancient Byzantine church. Step inside and see a replica of the Tabernacle and beautiful mosaics with a Star of David.
After exploring the ancient city, you will arrive at the visitor’s center. Enjoy the moving video, which tells the story of ancient Shiloh. After the movie, you can explore the museum below the theater and see pottery from many different time periods that were discovered at the site.
The tour then culminates in your arrival at the site where the Israelite Tabernacle once stood. This is an incredible place, and to stand where the Tabernacle stood and pray is a moving experience. As the hologram experience says, “If you close your eyes, you can still smell the spices that were burned in the Tabernacle.”
As you wander back through the ancient town of Shiloh, explore the rest of the city. A fun place to explore is an underground house that one can imagine as the house of the High Priest Eli from the book of Samuel.
